Every great dwarf – or hobbit – or elf – needs a great quiver!!
And it just so happens that my husband makes great quivers!!
The great thing about the winter months is that there is actually time on the weekends for Chip to get back to his leather bench and become inspired – or to fulfill Markus’s request to be fully equipped by Halloween to become Legolas, the Elf from the Lord of the Rings series.
He’s got the hair for it.
The rigging on this quiver allows it to hang at your side, rather than just across your back as a quiver with a simpler rigging would do. (See a back rigged quiver here.)
This is a dark brown dyed quiver – more of a youth size than an adult size as it holds a smaller sized arrow. It has a rough edge trim on the throat. The multiple straps can also be adjusted to change the angle that the quiver hangs from the body. The shoulder strap can also be worn as a belt.
It is kinda cool.
This quiver can be found on Chip’s Etsy Store - or will be there shortly – and will retail at $110.
Don’t worry Markus – he will make more before Halloween.

So cool! He’s going to be a PERFECT Legolas! I love that first pic of him. Have the boys seen Brave yet?
Yup – they got it for Xmas. What I loved is that when Chris was an actor at the Renaissance Faire, the Faire name I used was Amerida Gatekeep. It was supposed to be a funny take on “I married a Gatekeep” since Chris’s character name was Jonathan Gatekeep and I was his mom. Plus we know how I love everything Scotland – so when Brave came out and she was Scottish and her name was Amerida (not sure how they are spelling it) I was excited.
With all this emphasis on archery lately in movies (Hunger Games, Brave, Hobbit . . . ) I think Chip has to start making alot more quivers and get his bow making skills more productive. We have alot of elves to outfit!
I too loved that first picture of Markus, and the Quiver is just another beautiful piece of Chips amazing talent!!! If only more people would see it, I bet he’d get piles of sales. Love ya Chip!
Beautiful quiver! And Markus does have the hair and face to be Legolas…. watch out, girls!
