Home and Garden – Progress on the Barn

This past week Chip was able to finally fill in those holes in the walls of the barn.

The top part is waiting for us to either find triangular vents or make them.  This part took a little longer because these last pieces needed to be measured and fitted and were just a little trickier than the other parts of the wall.

The room next to the barn part he is working on used to be his workshop and the barn housed our storage.  However, when the barn roof blew off, everything had to be moved quickly to the workshop so it is now completely useless as a shop for him until we get the barn completed – hence why leather work has been slowed in production.  Next I think we move onto installing the floor in the barn and then we can really start the interior work necessary to make it a real shop space.  Chip has already, in this process, added a second floor to the space with a loft space up there where his bench will be, hopefully with a store space on the first floor.  We will see.

Misty seems unimpressed.  She may just be moping because Dad is not letting her into the barn so she can try to find that groundhog that has been living in the backyard this year.

Tucker is also tired of waiting for Dad to play with him with his ball while he works in the barn.

Gandalf is cool.  He found a shady spot, dug himself a hole and is just hanging out, watching everyone else work.  Its good to be Gandalf.

Okay, that is it for this week.  Next week may show a pool, or a floor, or a clean stove so I can call Ackerman’s to get it fixed.  There are always so many things to get done here that I don’t think of what’s next – because it is all “next”.

We made our Friday Food meal last night.  I can’t wait to post about it.  It came out great!!  Tomorrow is Hawk Studio Day.  I love what Chip made this week.  Talk to you tomorrow.  🙂

About Shelly R.

I am a Mother, a daughter, a sister, a wife, an attorney, a crafter and the granddaughter of an amazing woman - my Polish Grandmother. My Grandmother gave me so much, through her love and her patience, her sayings and her time teaching me how to craft and to give to others, that it seemed fitting to share some of that wisdom, to tell some of her story, and to chat about life and crafts in a way that would be a testament to what she gave me.

Wow, this is really motivating him isn’t it? You guys do so MUCH! AND blog about it….I think I got my Dad’s energy and you got Mom’s.

I assure you – I did NOT get Mom’s energy level. I could never keep up with her – or Gram for that matter. I think I take after my Dad too on that one.
