Wednesday Home and Garden Report – 5 kids is ALOT of kids

This week two of our nephews came to spend the week with us.

It is making 3 seem easy.  The ages are 7,8,9,10 & 11.  Wow!!

Jacob will always hold a special place in my heart.  When he was 3 or 4 his Dad brought him to a party at Aunt Cindy’s.  There were alot of people there all waiting to see him.  When they arrived Jacob got a little overwhelmed with all these people calling to him.  He looked over and saw me and yelled ‘Aunt Michelle” and came running into my arms.

He got a new bike that Christmas.

Anyway, part of this is why the house repairs currently look like this.

Plus this time of year is not exactly prolific for the garden – but there are some flowers still blooming.

In honor of Davey’s visit, the David Phlox is blooming

The Oriental lilies are blooming, leaving a wonderful scent in the hot humid air of summer

We still have some daylilies in bloom . . .

and there are still some roses trying to stay around to keep me happy.

In the front dog run (and the back one too) there are sunflowers blooming.

I will be able to see this one from my second floor after it blooms.

We have a mystery squash plant that appeared in the front dog run.

I saw baby peppers in the garden

and green tomatoes.

I will leave you with a peaceful moment in the cool shade of the conservation area looking at the waterfall you hear out my back door. Have a lovely evening.

About Shelly R.

I am a Mother, a daughter, a sister, a wife, an attorney, a crafter and the granddaughter of an amazing woman - my Polish Grandmother. My Grandmother gave me so much, through her love and her patience, her sayings and her time teaching me how to craft and to give to others, that it seemed fitting to share some of that wisdom, to tell some of her story, and to chat about life and crafts in a way that would be a testament to what she gave me.

5 Kids is a lot! 5 boys is a real lot! They look like they are having a good time though, hope you and Chip are having a good time too. Love the belts!!! What a great experience that is for the boys. Davey sent me a picture of his belt, he’s so proud of it.

Wow! All the flowers are beautiful!

Chip is getting to spend the most time with the boys. I have been working during the days and Chip and the boys are off to Markus’s football practice each evening from 5:30 – 8:30. They all pitched in to help make dinner with me thoughTuesday night – those pictures will go up a week from tomorrow. I am amazed at how smoothly it is going. No arguing between the boys. No one complaining about the food. Chip keeps them going though all day, every day. Today was a hike by the resevoir, yesterday was Lake Taghkonic, Tuesday was the creek and the ballfield – they are busy!! Chip is exhausted!!

  4. Cindy says:

I’m glad they all truly like each other and are happy to spend time together. Did you know we have been referring to this week as Camp Uncle Chip? He’s such a good Uncle!
