Spinning – Almost To Plying

Finally finished spinning the blue and brown Shetland/Alpaca roving.

I am just grateful that the Saturday spinning get-togethers have restarted and I can get back into a routine of spinning.  This fiber was spun with too much twist.  Plying will take out a little of the twist but not much.  It’s okay.  I needed this fiber to learn to be comfortable with spinning thin thread and to practice drafting.  I am much better at both now.

Next – working on learning how to control the amount of twist I am spinning into a fiber.  And plying, since these three bobbins must now become one big hank of overtwisted yarn.

Onward and Upward.

About Shelly R.

I am a Mother, a daughter, a sister, a wife, an attorney, a crafter and the granddaughter of an amazing woman - my Polish Grandmother. My Grandmother gave me so much, through her love and her patience, her sayings and her time teaching me how to craft and to give to others, that it seemed fitting to share some of that wisdom, to tell some of her story, and to chat about life and crafts in a way that would be a testament to what she gave me.
