Hawk Studio – Happy “Thor’s”day

We kind of like that whole Norse Viking thing in our house.  Celtic designs with a Nordic flair rule!!!

So, when Chip found Torfin on Etsy, a shop which hand casts buckles in a Norse design, a match was made – resulting in some new bags and belts which Chip is very happy with.

Let me start by showing you a wide belt that he recently completed.

The one end is not sewn down yet as the belt would have to be sized to fit the purchaser – but it obviously would look coot when worn.

This next photo shows the hand-stitching on the belt.

The belt is 3 inches wide with 3/4 inch straps.  It is block dyed in a light brown.

This belt retails for $85.00

Here’s another closeup of the buckle – this time on a field bag Chip made.

This field is approximately 10″ by 12″, dyed using a striated method in light brown.

It has a split mystery braid shoulder strap, an interior divider pocket and about 4 inches deep.

The field bag is probably Chip’s most popular sized bag.  It is about 4 inches deep and holds alot of stuff.  This bag has already been sold for a retail price of $255.00.

Chip has been very busy making more and more things for Hawk Studio, including another field bag which should be completed soon.  Etsy has proven to be a good internet site for bringing Chip’s work to a wider audience.  He has sold his products all over – including internationally – through Etsy.  If you search under “Shops” for “Hawk Studio” at Etsy.com you should be able to find him.  Next – how to open an Escape to Evermore Shop on Etsy.  I am not as technologically savvy so it is taking me longer.

Hope you like his latest work.  In closing, here is a quick shot of Chip working his booth at a recent Beltaine Festival he did.

 Happy Thor’sday.

I am a Mother, a daughter, a sister, a wife, an attorney, a crafter and the granddaughter of an amazing woman - my Polish Grandmother. My Grandmother gave me so much, through her love and her patience, her sayings and her time teaching me how to craft and to give to others, that it seemed fitting to share some of that wisdom, to tell some of her story, and to chat about life and crafts in a way that would be a testament to what she gave me.
